Lesson Ideas
Bring in random things to the lesson. turn off the lights, and hold them behind a white piece of paper. Turn on the flashlight on your phone and it will cast an shadow of the item on the piece of paper. Ask the children what they think it is based off the image it creates on the paper. Tell the children that the only reason they know what is on the other side is because it is in the image of the thing it is. Without the image, you would have no clue what it would be.
Bring some pictures of animals into the lesson. Try to explain to the children in a very general way, what the animal is without showing them the picture. If they cannot guess it show them the picture of the animal, ask them what animal this is. When they say what animal it is you can explain to them that they only knew that because you saw the image of the animal. Impress them of what an image is. Read Genesis 1:26a or 1:27a, help them to understand that we are God’s image just like the photograph.
